TONGUE CHOKER

Eight silicone tongues soften the spikes of this pleather choker. Each tongue is a cast of the artist's tongue from alginate moulds.

The spiked collar dates back to Ancient Greece when herding dogs wore them as neck armour to protect livestock from predators such as wolves.

Radage made the piece meditating on interspecies communication within the myth of human supremacy. What is it to sing to worms as an offering and to expect nothing back?

This piece was originally made for a performance actioned at qap.digital launch at 180 Strand Reference Point in December 2022.

Radage is open to commissions for Tongue Chokers for individuals. Each piece is unique. Enquiries to alicia.radage@gmail.com
