Sowing Seeds Residency | 2012-2013 | Rajasthan, India

This performance was a response to being in an environment where my body was constantly gazed upon, with certain attention to read gender. I began visualising sinking into the ground and moving through this space. These images document this mental projection onto the landscape. The head scarf would not absorb the sand, thus making my face ultimately more visible. I was accompanied on this performance with a friend I made named Tulsi.
